Here we are once again, my beloved weirdos! It is mid April and there is an energy in the air that has recharged my batteries. Since the beginning of the month, I’ve found myself waking up everyday with a determination to clean. While my typical attitude towards cleaning has always been positive, this is a little different. This is about preparation for the future.
I don’t often talk about the future and my plans for it, though I used to. Talking about what you’re going to do will often derail you from doing it. You get a mental high from talking about your goals that almost feels as good as completing them. Bottom line, talking and taking action are two different things. I keep my mouth shut now until something is ready to roll out. For the moment, I remain mum about my plans. I will say this though – things are coming and they’re coming fast.
As I already mentioned, I feel electrified right now. I have a focus that I feel has been lost for quite some time. I believe clarity has come from a new balance formed in my life. Most importantly, simplification has been key. A couple years ago, my pursuits were very complicated and my plate was too full. Therefore, many deadlines for projects were not met and the creative work produced was sometimes subpar. This last year has been really important for helping me understand what’s truly important and what isn’t. Additionally, acknowledging that I need help has made the things I want to do achievable.
With this new found wisdom, I moving forward with a different approach. There used to be about ten-fifteen projects I was working on at the same time. It’s clear to see now why I was failing so much in my pursuits. So now my focus in on four projects, which are the things I most passionate about. The list is as follows:
- The weekly diary entries that I am writing at this very moment
- The artistic self-portraits that accompany these entries
- The artwork I create for The Bowler at Eluded.co
- The Ele-A-Mental Podcast
That pretty much covers it. With these four projects, I have found that keeping it simple has allowed me to flourish where I once floundered. This has caused a kind of mental kinetic energy, which is powering up a powerful engine inside me. Where is this thunderous motor is taking me? I guess you’ll have to wait and see.
Since electricity was the underlying current this week, I thought that my buildings power room was a good place to shoot. The style I was going for was sleek, yet bold. Simple contrasts with a burgundy burst of color reflects my tastes and tone right now.
As always, thank you all for following and being apart of my story. Until next week…
